About Tulips in the Wild

Tulips in the Wild was created and published by Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs and The Amsterdam Tulip Museum. It was originally published in 2013 as a booklet for use by Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs as a surprise treat tucked in with their fall bulb orders, and by The Amsterdam Tulip Museum as a gift for visitors.

This website features all the images and text from the booklet and is offered as a surprise treat to tulip lovers everywhere.

Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs

Colorblends Wholesale Flowerbulbs is a third generation American flowerbulb wholesaler with deep roots in Holland. The Amsterdam Tulip Museum

Spring is not the only tulip time in Holland. When the colorful bulb fields are past their peak and the seven million blooms in the famed Keukenhof garden no longer dazzle, tulip-loving tourists can still enjoy the Amsterdam Tulip Museum. This small but dynamic museum in Amsterdam’s central canal district captivates visitors year-round with the story of the world’s most storied flower.

The Amsterdam Tulip Museum is housed in a canal house at Prinsengracht 116 in the charming Jordaan neighborhood. Set amidst intimate shops and galleries, restaurants and sidewalk cafes, the museum is a short walk from Amsterdam’s Central Train Station and steps away from the Anne Frank House and Westerkerk, the Dutch Renaissance church and tower with 48-bell carillon.

The text of Tulips in the Wild was written by Eric Breed and edited by Christian Curless.

We would like to thank tulip hunter, Nicholas Turland, for his kind permission to use several of his photographs.
